I googled this site (toronto.ca/cpconsultations) in regards to another proposal ... and found this for a Community Consultation Meeting related to 147 Spadina Avenue.   ... this is a familiar site on Spadina at Richmond West. A typical Spadina heritage building ... but alas only two floors high. Consequently it is ripe for picking by developers who propose a 25-storey mixed-use building with ground floor retail and 223 residential units above that will look like this ...  The loss of a beautiful heritage building is one thing. Another is the height and mass which is being contested by residents in the District Lofts just to the east of the site ... email [email protected] if you would like to join in their fight.  An interesting observation (architectural plans are accessible from the sidebar): residents with underground parking will need to utilize the existing parking structure for the District Lofts.  |
