At the public meeting held on February 1st, RioCan-Allied presented their newest site plan, a refinement of the one posted March 24, 2015. Generally, the plan was favourably received. It respected the historical nature of the structures within its compound, facilitated pedestrian traffic via cobblestone alleyways between the buildings, and ensured that the new constructions were harmonious with the streetscapes.
Many attendees at the meeting were residents from homes on Adelaide Place and Adelaide Street. These residents, fatigued by current construction to the west of them and wary of aspects of the updated Construction Management Plan, vocalized apprehensions and negative experiences about construction promises, practices and enforcement. Further meetings are planned to address these concerns.
