Alterra invited the GDNA to review its Construction Management Plan for this proposal. Councillor Cressy's office was impressed, touting it as "a gold standard as far as construction management plans go". Generally in agreement, the GDNA was quick to point out that a Watermain Replacement along Richmond was scheduled by the City for June to December 2019 ... a definite conflict with Alterra's timeline.

The Toronto and East York Community Council, at its July 4th session, adopted Planning's recommendation to approve this application. The final "hurdle" will be City Council on July 23rd. Click here for the TEYCC minutes.
In response to GDNA concerns about Rush Lane during the construction phase of the project, Alterra representatives initiated a meeting with GDNA members and promised further meetings at which we could bring forth our issues and "brain-storm" solutions. The GDNA has an excellent relationship with Alterra re construction of the Ace Hotel so expects the same going forward on this one. City Planning has produced a Final Report for the next session of the Toronto and East York Community Council (accessible here) in favour of this development application. Although in agreement with this direction, the GDNA wants to make sure the construction process does not have a negative effect on the popularity, vitality and safety of Rush Lane (Graffiti Alley). Hence this comment (available in pdf format) has been submitted for attachment to the file.
Supporting Documentation (take the sidebar) is now available for this proposal planned for the current site of Stephenson's Rental at the corner of Richmond and Augusta. This application has been in the works since 2012. Indeed we had a community consultation meeting back in November 2013. Current documents show dates as current as April 2018 so I expect there will be activity soon.
In the absence of any Supporting Documentation (a la sidebar), Brent from Councillor Cressy's office has shared the applicant's presentation materials from the June 15th Community Consultation Meeting.
A Community Consultation Meeting will be held regarding this rezoning application. I questioned the absence of any Supporting Documentation but it seems the original application predates the City's practice of requiring such in electronic form. Updated application materials will appear after the public meeting. The best we have right now is the 2013 preliminary staff report found here: http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2013/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-56084.pdf.
Date: Thursday, June 15 Time: 6:30 pm Location: Hyatt Regency, 370 King St W Not much action on this one since 2013 and, indeed, the Supporting Documentation is no longer available ... but this is what City Planning thought of the application that was submitted:
